Join us for an exclusive journey into one of Austria’s most exciting wine regions: Kamptal.

Led by Thomas van Zegveld, who gained extensive viticultural experience while spending many years working in the vineyards and cellars of wineries in the Wachau and Kamptal, as well as serving wines in some of Austria’s most prestigious restaurants. He now imports a select portfolio of ambitious, biodynamic winemakers from Austria to the Netherlands, all working with a philosophy of minimal intervention.

✨ What to expect:
At the stylish Restaurant Juno in Amsterdam, Thomas will guide you through a new wave of Austrian winemaking. You’ll taste wines from two of his favorite Kamptal producers and explore how different backgrounds, philosophies, and techniques shape their wines.
One of the featured winemakers is Charly Rol, originally from Marsannay in Burgundy. After moving to Austria in 2014, he began working as a wine consultant, bringing a distinctly Burgundian approach to Austrian winemaking. Today, he applies this elegant, terroir-driven style to indigenous grape varieties such as Grüner Veltliner, Zweigelt, Saint Laurent, and Blaufränkisch, resulting in wines that combine precision, freshness, and restraint.

The second producer is Josef Schenter, a winemaker from Thurneustift, the highest and most northern village of the Kamptal. In 2015, he took over his family winery and made the ambitious decision to fully convert to biodynamic farming and low-intervention winemaking. His style is pure, clean, and precise. In his view, terroir reveals itself most truthfully through natural winemaking processes, reaching its purest expression when wines are made without additives.
